We are centrally located - Castle Combe, one of the most beautiful villages in England (where they filmed Poirot and Dick Turpin) is approximately 4 miles away and you can actually walk there from the Barn - it takes approximately 3/4 of an hour. | |
| Castle Combe also has a Racing Circuit and Skidpad. Laycock (where they filmed Pride and Prejudice) is also another lovely village to be visited; Bath, Westonbirt Arboretum, Corsham and Badminton are all within easy driving distance, as is Bowood House - a wonderful place to visit. There is also a golf driving range nearby.
For those who are keen walkers, there are a multitude of walks to choose from. The beautiful village of Biddestone is approximately 1 mile away. There are two pubs, a traditional village green and duckpond. Quite lovely and easily accessed from the Barn for a gentle walk. |

Another lovely village within walking distance is Ford, where the pub is called The White Hart. To reach Ford from the Barn, you walk down the old Stage Road (what was the main stage route for the Royal Mail coach!). It’s very atmospheric as the tree branches intermingle way above you as you walk down the lane, giving it a leafy, tunnel effect. We do hope you will be tempted to come a stay with us in one of the most beautiful parts of England. |
